Cards for Kindness

This year at Spring Retreat, we decided to change things up a little bit for our charity event. We are thrilled to support the Cards for Kindness® initiative at Scrapbook.com! Since our theme at retreat is “She Designed a Life She Loved,” we thought this went perfectly with the mission of Cards for Kindness® which is “a handmade card for anyone who needs it.”

Cards for Kindness® is a global initiative that centers around uplifting others and spreading happiness to anyone who could use an emotional boost, cheer, or a reminder of how loved they are.

Volunteer card makers from around the world send in handmade cards. Then, Cards for Kindess® distributes those cards to organizations that support people in need. They partner with many different organizations supporting hospitals, retirement homes, active military members and more.

This is where you come in!

We are inviting you to bring some handmade cards with coordinating envelopes to retreat. You can bring 1 or 100…it’s up to you. We will also have some basic supplies to help you create some during the weekend. After retreat we will send them to Cards for Kindness®.

We are looking for handmade cards that are blank inside and include a coordinating envelope in the following themes:

  • “Thinking of You”
  • “Happy Hello”
  • “Happy Birthday” cards for adults (they are especially in need of cards that can be given to males)
  • “Miss You”
  • “Thank You”
  • “Kindness” themed
  • “Feel Better” cards for adults and children (Many of the partner organizations specifically request cards that say “Feel Better” versus “Get Well”)
  • Mother’s Day or Father’s Day cards with no stamp or messages inside the cards

We love the Cards for Kindness ® initiative and can’t wait to see all your beautiful cards!

You can learn more about Cards for Kindess® here. You are also welcome to donate cards on your own at any time.
